_RESPONSIBILITY.

01.

FARMING.

Our cotton is grown in India via organic farming methods without the use of harmful synthetic pesticides, herbicides and GMO’s (Genetic Modified Organisms) which in turn help create healthy, happy carbon storing soil. At this stage the cotton is certified under GOTS.

02.

MANUFACTURING.

The cotton is then passed onto Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills where it begins to take shape. Using Sabi&Soul garment designs we partner to sample, dye, cut, sew and tag. This partnership is one that is built on a shared belief in quality done right. RCM ensure they continue the journey of our garments in a low impact way using GOTS certified processes throughout. They also ensure the people throughout the journey benefit and are respected, covered by both GOTS and Fairtrade certifications, with roughly 1/3 of their electricity consumption generated by solar.

03.

SAMPLING.

This stage is key in being able to produce not only the right fit and colour but also ensure the products we produce are quality and will last the test of time. We'll always recommend a cold wash for our products, but aside from that, garments are pre-shrunk to avoid any hot wash mishaps. After all a truly sustainable product needs to last.

04.

DYING.

In the process of producing organic garments, it is an important step to ensure no harmful chemicals are used and only low impact dyes to ensure an eco-friendly practice is maintained.

05.

CUT/SEW/TAG.

Garments are constructed with care labels to our specifications, in factories under the regulations of GOTS and Fairtrade International.

06.

SHIPPING.

In true slow-fashion style, we've taken a no-rush approach to bringing our garments to the UK for printing. Our cargo is strictly sea freight, which is roughly a 47x smaller carbon footprint in air freight.

07.

PRINTING.

We then print with 100% solvent free, environmentally friendly, waterbased inks that are built to endure. We also avoid overprinting by reacting to the demand of each garment.

08.

DELIVERY.

Finally we round of the journey of our garments by providing recyclable paper packaging with the stamp of approval from Sabi & Soul.
